Male infertility

Establishing the cause of male fertility problems or infertility can be complex. Impotentia coeundi is general term for series of problems that relate to sexual intercourse, while Impotentia generandi is a term for problems relating to fertility itself. If a couple are struggling to conceive a child we recommend first carrying out fertility tests on the male as they are far simpler and less invasive. Our usual fertility test involves an initial consultation, urological physical examination and sperm-check. If needed, further investigations such as ultrasound, hormonal profile tests and tests for sexually transmitted diseases may be carried out.
