Male sterilization is performed on outpatient basis under local anesthesia with 5 mm incision in the upper half of the scrotum, unlike sterilization of women, which requires general anesthesia and a hospital stay. After uncovering of seminal duct the surgeon with subsequent interruption stops the sperm trace from the testicles to the seminal vesicles. The result of male sterilization is the absence of sperm in the ejaculate. The sterilized man can continue in his sexual life, the only difference is the production of sperm ejaculate, which is about 1/3 smaller than the ejaculate before sterilization. Men’s erection or hormonal functions are not affected by sterilization. The advantage of male sterilization is its simplicity, painlessness, outpatient performance and low financial costs compared to female hormonal contraception or barrier contraception. The performance itself is painless, outpatient and does not require subsequent incapacity. After performance, the spermogram is checked for 2 times and after 2 sperm counts with zero sperm count, it is possible to speak about the completed sterilization.
